Frank The Convict

So this is Frank. The Idea behind this character is that he's around 60 years old and just escaped from prison circa 1930. His clothing reflects typical southern prison uniforms from that time. I wanted an easily readable silhouette. I chose to counter balance the simplified design with heavy sculpted detail. The hair design reflects Franks' love of Cigars, Similar to a puff of smoke.

Nos

This is my take on Nosferatu. He's more of a poorer pathetic kinda guy, but still charming. My goal is to add anatomical detail while still maintaining a strong and easily readable Silhouette. ...more to come.

The Nihd

In the design of the Nihd, I was inspired by insects such as beetles, flies, dragonflies, walking sticks. I was also inspired by harlequin masks, asparagus and an old mugshot I had designed in a sketchbook. I used silhouette sketching as my primary method of design an exploration
Basemesh's made in Maya 7 and Sculpted in Z-brush 2 and Mudbox.

Warmup Mud head (45min) and Zbrush head(1 hr)

This is how i typically approach a 3d sketch. I sculpt in a process similar to my head sketch drawings. No reference of course (exercise for the mind and hands) Done Entirely in Mudbox.
total time 45min.

Haven't done this in a while, So this is my first cube sculpt in Zbrush. I finally feel comfortable using zbrush to sketch.
